Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton
Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton is part of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and is the largest acute hospital in Somerset serving a population of over 340,000 as well as providing some specialist and tertiary services for the whole of Somerset with a catchment population of 544,000. Each year over 41,000 patients are admitted as emergencies; nearly 9,000 patients are admitted for elective surgery; nearly 34,000 are seen for day case surgery; 315,500 patients attend outpatient clinics; 56,000 attend their emergency department.
After 15 years as a customer of Siemens Musgrove Park Hospital decided that as their current iSDX telephone estate (4,000 extensions) had reached end of life and therefore was no longer support-ed by the supplier. It would through a competitive tendering process, seek an organisation to re-place the long running Support & Maintenance contract.
Its principle aims in this procurement was to find a suitable supplier that would:
- Seamlessly transition the support & maintenance from the current manufacture, with no loss of service.
- Capability in delivering successful migration projects on time and to budget.
- Significant reduction in total running costs of telephony estate.
In 2014 Tele-Response was selected as the Musgrove park hospital telephony support & mainte-nance partner. Tele-Response provided a detailed migration strategy, that allowed the hospital to seamlessly move from its Siemens end of life system to a Mitel MiVoice Solution, giving the hospi-tal a platform that would allow future implementations of both VOIP and UCC.
With the immediate reduction in running costs, it has enabled Musgrove park hospital to invest in the future and over the last xx months have worked with Tele-Response on delivering the follow-ing projects:
- UCC Licensing
- WIFI Handsets
- Voicemail Contact Centre – MXE Server
- SIP trunks
- Contact Centre
Tele-Response is now a fully committed partner to Musgrove Park Hospital and looks forward to further building this collaborative relationship over the forthcoming years.
